Before You Start A Blog

I know this may sound stupid, however, before you start a blog, make sure you have a starving audience.

So what the heck does that mean?

If I was enthusiastic about lizards and salamanders and wanted to share my wealth of knowledge with the world on how they live, eat, and have sex, would anyone give a sh*t? (Sorry, I tend to swear once in a while. I know – I already have people telling me it’s a sign of ignorance. But guess what…I don’t give a sh*t.)

Okay, back to starting a blog.

In order to produce a blog that makes you money, and before you start a blog, check your keywords to see how many people are searching for what you want to blog about.

The only way you’re going to make money with your blog is to have a large rabid audience who’s interested in your topic. Otherwise, it’ll be like screaming from a raft in the middle of the Ocean, or, talking to your teenage kids. (My mom tells me it’s like talking to the wall. Sorry mom, I don’t recall this ever happening, but it’s probably because I wasn’t listening.)
