There are several ways to market a blog. If you want to make money from your blog you have to have massive traffic. There are hundreds of different ways to get traffic to your blog. However, I’m only going to bore you with the most effective.

These are 6 of best ways to market a blog

1.    Blog SEO (search engine optimize) using your specific keywords. If you’re not on page one, or worst case page two of Google, Yahoo, and Bing, I’m afraid working your little fingers to the bone was for not. However, there are several other ways to get your amazing content into your prospects hot little hands. Although, you should eventually implement them all. Keep reading!

2.   Submitting Articles: You can submit articles to www.knol.google.com and www.ezinearticles.com. These are 2 of your top article submission sites. Why article submission? First – if you have planted your keywords correctly throughout your articles, the article submission websites will post, crawl, and index the articles to rank high in the search engines for your specific keywords. This will help you get traffic to your blog quickly. A-N-D you’re able to receive back links to your site.

3.    Video Marketing: More than 20 million people go online searching for videos. I like to do a short article on each topic, and a short video overview of my topic. Why? Because some people like to read, and others like to watch, and listen.  You can submit your videos for FREE to… Youtube, Vimeo, Motionbox, Yahoo, Veoh, Daily Motion, etc. This also helps you receive back links to your site.

4.   Facebook: Tell everyone what you’re doing, and how you’re trying to impact the world. Put links to all your blog posts, and share what inspires you. Set up a “fan page” and connect it to your blog so you can build a large following of raving fans.

Note: Facebook and Twitter are social networks where you build relationships first (duh!) Don’t be that annoying person who thinks every tweet should be a sales pitch. There’s a right and wrong way to offer products and services. Most people do it all wrong!

5.    Twitter: Similar to Facebook. However, you want to engage people in order to build their friendship, and trust. Ask questions in order to engage, and find out more about your peeps. Be genuinely interested in others. Tweeting quotes or what you ate last night isn’t going to intrigue anyone unless you’re Brad Pitt.

6.   Commenting on other similar blogs: Go to other blogs that are similar to yours, and genuinely make quality comments. As the old saying goes… “Do to others as you’d want them to do to you.” So don’t be the a**hole who leaves a stupid comment just to get a link back to your blog. Sorry, this just burns my tidy whitties when some lame brain thinks his stupid comment isn’t going to be deleted before it gets posted.

NOTE: Most high ranking sites have a “no follow” rule. Which means – NO BACK-LINKS for you! However, when you post a comment a lot of people will visit your site if you make an intriguing comment.
