Make A Blog

Make A Blog

What’s your expertise or passion? If you’re going to make a blog that makes you money, what the heck are you going to rant about in order to impact the world?

NOTE: Just because you’re passionate about a subject, doesn’t mean anyone else gives a sh*t.

Before you make a blog…

•    Write down everything you’re passionate about
•    Make sure you have a hungry crowd of prospects that are interested in your topic
•    Research keywords to see how many prospects are seeking your “life altering” information
•    Before you decide to make a blog, you must first know how competitive the market is for your keywords
•    Write down as many keywords as possible that your prospects are interested in, AND try to choose the keywords that are low to medium in competitiveness.

Keywords – are search terms that people place into their web browser to find information on the web. An example, if you were to find my site, you’d type in “make a blog”, “marketing a blog”, or “making money blogging”. Those are my keywords. To look up keywords type in “keyword tool” into your web browser, and you’ll find Googles keyword tool. Don’t worry, it’s FREE, and it will help you decide which keywords to use so you’ll have a good chance at reaching page one status.

Make your blog…

•    You can choose a FREE blogging platform like Blogger.com. However, if you’re serious about making a blog that makes you money you’ll want to host the blog yourself, and use a wordpress theme. This way you’re in complete control over your blog, and domain name.

•    Choose a host (see resources) to up load your files. You only need to do this once. Then everything will be completed through your wordpress themes back office. In order to up load your files you’ll need an FTP application (Filezilla is FREE)

•    Choose a domain name. I like to use my own name. However, Glen Andrews was already taken so I used Glen Andrews1.com. It’s best to use a URL with a .com, instead of net, or org. Why? Because this is what everyone’s familiar with. Also try NOT to use a really long domain name, the shorter the better.
